Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
