Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
