Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 We glorify God." 166 And there were those who said, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
