The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
