The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
