Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
