Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 Generous and recording, 11 who know what you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
