The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 It is a written book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
