So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
