Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
