The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
