Thamud (people) belied the Messenger. 141 Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 144 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 145 "Will you be left secure in that which you have here? 146 In these gardens and these springs, 147 and fields, and [these] palm-trees with slender spathes? 148 And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill. 149 Fear Allah and obey me 150 and pay no heed to the counsel of those who are given to excesses 151 Who work corruption in the land and rectify not. 152 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 153 “You are just a human like us; therefore bring some sign if you are truthful.” 154 He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a day appointed, 155 and do not touch her with malice so that there seize you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 156 But they cruelly slaughtered her - and then they had cause to regret it: 157 so the punishment came down upon them. Surely in that there is a sign, but most of them would not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159
