Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
