[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Aaron my brother 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 “When We inspired in your mother’s heart whatever was to be inspired.” 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
