▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
And for him who dreadeth the standing before his Lord will be two Gardens. 46 which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 47 Of spreading branches. 48 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 49 In each of the two Gardens are two flowing springs. 50 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 51 In which will be of every fruit two kinds. 52 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 53 [In such a paradise the blest will dwell,] reclining upon carpets lined with rich brocade; and the fruit of both these gardens will be within easy reach. 54 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 55 In them maidens with averted glances, undeflowered by man or by jinn before them, -- 56 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 57 As though they were rubies and pearls. 58 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 59 Shall the recompense of goodness be anything other than goodness? 60 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 61 And besides these shall be two gardens -- 62 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 63 Both [gardens] of the darkest green. 64 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 65 In both of them live springs gush forth. 66 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 67 In them are fruits (of all kinds), and dates and pomegranate. 68 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 69 therein maidens good and comely -- 70 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 71 Maidens (of Paradise, Houris) in cloistered cool pavilions. 72 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 73 Undeflowered by man or by jinn before them, -- 74 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 75 [They will live in such a paradise] reclining upon green cushions and the finest carpets. 76 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 77 Blest be the name of thine Lord, Owner Of Majesty and Beneficence! 78
True are the words of God the Almighty.
