The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
