Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in towering columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
