The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
