The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and so am I: 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
