The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
