And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate. 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So, hold fast to the Book that has been revealed to you, you are surely on the right path, 43 And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
