Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
