Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
