The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
