(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
