The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Who will be honoured 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And spreading shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
