The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 it will be a hard day 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then he beheld, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
