The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
