۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
