Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 Further evidence (of His existence) are the ships which stand as mountains in the sea. 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 Or, He wrecks them for what they have earned, but He pardons a lot. 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 To exercise patience and forgive (the wrong done to one) is the proof of genuine determination. 43
