The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
