He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 you attend to him, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 You neglect. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
