Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HaMeem. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, 2 The Forgiver of sin and the Accepter of repentance, who is severe in punishment and Infinite in His Bounty. There is no God but Him. All shall return to Him. 3 No one disputes the revelations of the Lord except the disbelievers. Let not their activities in the land deceive you. 4 The people of Nuh and the confederates after them belied their apostles before these, and each disbelieving community advanced toward their apostle that they may lay hold of him and disputed with vain speech that they may confute the truth thereby. Wherefore I laid hold of them; and how terrible was My chastisement! 5 And so it is that the Word of your Lord shall be realized against the unbelievers they are the inhabitants of the Fire. 6 Those [angels] who carry the Throne and those around it exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who have believed, [saying], "Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire. 7 Our Lord! and make them enter the gardens of perpetuity which Thou hast promised to them and those who do good of their fathers and their wives and their offspring, surely Thou are the Mighty, the Wise. 8 "And save them from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins, and whomsoever You save from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins (i.e. excuse them) that Day, him verily, You have taken into mercy." And that is the supreme success. 9
