The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
