Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
