Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
