The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
