The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
