O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from Him, even as you are listening; 20 And be not like those who say: "We have heard," but they hear not. 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 If God had seen any good in them He would surely have made them hear. Now even if He makes them hear they will turn away (in obduracy). 23 Believers, obey God and the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know that God stands between man and his heart, and you shall all be gathered in His presence. 24 And fear an affliction which may not smite those of you in particular who are unjust; and know that Allah is severe in requiting (evil). 25 Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. 26 O ye who believe! Betray not Allah and His messenger, nor knowingly betray your trusts. 27 And know that your property and your children are a temptation, and that Allah is He with Whom there is a mighty reward. 28
