Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In the high empyrean, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
