Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
