And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
