The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
