Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas overflow; 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 The honourable recorders. 11 Who know what you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
