The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AlifLaamRa. Those are the verses of the Book, the Clear Koran. 1 Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims. 2 Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know! 3 And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it. 4 No nation can anticipate its term, nor delay it. 5 They say, "You to whom the Reminder [the Quran] has been sent down, you are surely possessed. 6 Why bringest thou not angels unto us, if thou art of the truthful? 7 We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated. 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 And certainly We sent (apostles) before you among the nations of yore. 10 But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him. 11 thus We cause this [habit of mocking] to enter into the hearts of the sinful. 12 They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before. 13 If We opened a gate in the heaven and they kept ascending through it, 14 they would surely have said, "It is only our eyes that are spellbound! Nay, we have been bewitched! 15
