Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
