The tribe of Thamud also rejected Our warnings: 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 they even wanted to seduce his guests -- but We blinded them, and said, "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" -- 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 So have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings. 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
