Thamud denied the messengers 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: fear ye not? 142 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 In gardens and watersprings. 147 And green crops (fields etc.) and date-palms with soft spadix. 148 You hew dwellings in mountains and exult in that. 149 "Be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me, 150 and do not follow the biddings of those that go to excesses 151 and spread mischief in the land rather than set things right." 152 They said: You are only of the deluded ones; 153 Thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! Come, then, forward with a token [of thy mission] if thou art a man of truth!" 154 He said, "Here is a she-camel. She shall have her turn of drinking, as you have yours, each on an appointed day, 155 Do not cause her to suffer lest you become subject to the torment of the great day (of Judgment)." 156 But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. 157 for the suffering [predicted by Salih,] befell them [then and there]. In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 158 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
