Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 Nay! you shall soon know, 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 again, you shall most certainly end up seeing it with absolute certainty. 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8
