We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
